Nestled on 23 peaceful acres in Camp Verde, Arizona, Healing River Ranch has grown from a vacant parcel of land into a thriving sanctuary. Every road, fence, shelter, habitat, utility, and improvement has been thoughtfully designed, responsibly built, and paid for in full. Whenever possible, existing materials have been repurposed to create enriching spaces for the animals while reflecting our commitment to thoughtful stewardship, sustainability, and responsible growth.
Healing River Ranch is far more than a sanctuary. It is a specialized animal care community dedicated to providing gold-standard veterinary care, individualized nutrition, meaningful socialization, and enriching daily experiences tailored to each resident’s unique needs.
Our commitment to conservation is reflected in the careful stewardship of our six acres of riparian habitat. Through years of hands-on restoration—without the use of chemicals—we have helped create a healthier ecosystem for native plants and the many resident and migratory species that depend on it.
Although riparian areas make up less than 2% of Arizona’s landscape, they support approximately 80% of the state’s wildlife at some point in their lives. The Verde River is one of Arizona’s last free-flowing rivers and provides vital habitat for hundreds of species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and pollinators. We are honored to care for 800 feet of this extraordinary river corridor with deep respect and a profound sense of responsibility for the land, its wildlife, and future generations

By scanning the interactive QR code, visitors can learn about each resident who calls that habitat home, discovering their unique journey and the compassionate care they now receive.
