Bear, a 3-year-old German Shepard/Husky mix, was surrendered to a field officer after receiving numerous calls from concerned neighbors. He was taken to the shelter, where, due to his medical condition, it was determined he was not suitable for adoption. Animal Guardian Network was contacted hoping we could take him into our sanctuary. AGN was Bear’s only chance.
Once in the care of AGN, an orthopedic specialists performed a thorough assessment. It was determined that Bear has a severe case of bilateral hip dysplasia and subluxation (hip popping out of joint) in one hip. The condition of Bear’s hips causes constant inflammation and excrutiating pain. This was no way for a young discareded boy to live.
Through many generous Angels, a fundraising campaign was started to help pay for Bear’s surgery. One anonymous Angel donated 95% of the funds needed to perform the necessary surgery!
Once Bear has fully healed, he will be ready for his forever family who will take special care of this amazing boy.
